The Jungle Book

Lobero Theatre

About the Event

Rudyard Kipling’s famous tale of the “laws of the jungle” will ignite your sense of adventure onstage at the Lobero Theatre. Colorful, upbeat, and wildly entertaining, this original production has successfully toured throughout California and the Southwestern United States. With choreography by Artistic Director Rodney Gustafson and audience-favorite Kassandra Taylor Newberry, an original score by Czech composer Milan Svoboda, and mesmerizing digital projections by Jean-Francois Revon, State Street Ballet’s dancers will take you on an unforgettable journey through the jungles and forests of India.

With internationally acclaimed dancers and an enviable repertoire, State Street Ballet brings this highly successful touring production home to Santa Barbara. The jazzy rhythms, intricate movements, and fanciful staging of Jungle Book identify it as one of the company’s signature works created by its founder and former ABT dancer Rodney Gustafson. The premiere of new digital enhancements further enrich the live performance experience in the intimate setting of the Lobero.
