WE ARE AMERICA Tour: American Songs That Give Us Hope

Marking the 10th Anniversary of Secular Hymns’ release, the tour reunites the singular artist with her longtime collaborators, bassist Barak Mori and guitarist Jon Herington. This dynamic trio recorded classic tunes by Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Sister Rosetta Tharpe among others in 2016, and carried the worldwide tour that followed.

Ten years on, the intimate ensemble will set the scene for Peyroux to uplift audiences with a captivating mix of originals and covers, old and new, but entirely American — from Allen Toussaint, Judy Collins, Bessie Smith and Bob Dylan, to Peyroux’s own soul-baring originals — delivered in the distinctive, intimate, crooning candor now synonymous with the artist’s name.

It has also been thirty years since the release of the breakthrough album Dreamland — the milestone recording that shifted teen busker Peyroux from the streets of Paris to the world’s grandest concert halls, cementing her status as a talent that is here to stay. With the 2026 WE ARE AMERICA Tour, we have a chance to revel in the veteran artist’s personal journey, as well as that of the world at large.

Peyroux has recorded nine albums, certified gold and platinum in several countries around the world and has collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the studio and onstage. She bravely explores new ground and transcends genres while keeping a solid jazz base, all while increasingly writing her own material. Her latest album Lets Walk (2024), comprises all new material co-penned with Jon Herington.

Currently a professor at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, bassist Barak Mori has played with Benny Green, Eric Reed, Kenny Washington, Jim Rotondi, Peter Cincotti, Marcus Printup and Avishai Cohen among others. Jon Herington has recorded and performed with iconic band Steely Dan since 1999, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Bette Midler and Bobby Caldwell among others. He is the co-writer and co-producer of Madeleine Peyroux’s 2024 Let’s Walk album.

Jon Muq

Uganda-born singer/songwriter Jon Muq draws from African as well as western musical trends and traditions. He devises songs as small gifts, designed to settle into everyday life and provoke reflection and resilience. With his May 31st debut album with producer Dan Auerbach and tours with Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, Amythyst Kiah, Corinne Bailey Rae, and others, Muq continues to expand the scope of his music to more and more people.
