This event is a rental, not a Lobero presentation.

Documentary Film Screening & Post Film Panel Discussion

Together we will gather not only to witness a story but to strengthen connection, deepen understanding, and support a community rebuilding forward. This event serves as a bridge from Lahaina to Santa Barbara, uniting communities who understand the power of place, loss, and renewal. Proceeds from the evening benefit ongoing grassroots recovery efforts serving families in Lahaina and Hawaii.

About Lele Aloha

Lāhainā, on the western shore of Maui, is a place of deep cultural, historical, and spiritual significance. Once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom and a vibrant whaling port, it is cherished by Native Hawaiians as an honored, storied place where generations are connected to the land and sea. In August 2023, devastating wildfires swept through the town, destroying homes, landmarks, and lives, and profoundly impacting the community.

In response to this tragedy, Archie Kalepa founded Lele Aloha to help rebuild and revitalize Lāhainā, restoring not only physical spaces but also the spirit and cultural foundation of the community. With a lineage tracing back 10 generations, Archie’s upbringing reflects an incomparable connection to both community and the land – a legacy he continues to honor through his work with the nonprofit organization alongside his wife, Alicia Kalepa, and their children.
