IS IT IN THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS OF THE LOBERO REMODEL TO HAVE THE HEARING LOOP INSTALLED? The hearing loop allows people who are hard of hearing to press a button on their hearing aid and hear sound directly from the auditory system into the hearing aid. The loop is catching on in Santa Barbara because we have a company dedicated to looping and people are beginning to learn what the loop can do for those with hearing loss. The looping system is simply a transmitter connected to the sound system and a cooper wire connected to that. The copper wire circles the room, either under the flooring or around the ceiling. The copper wire wirelessly transmits the sound from the sound source into the recievers hearing aid. Hundreds of us in Santa Barbara can benefit from this system and the Lobero can too, many people who don’t hear well just don’t attend theater due to hearing problems. The loop corrects this! New York Times has and article about the experience of Richard Einhorn, web sites are numerous, a couple more are http://www.hearingloop.org/Sound Demo.html and http://www.hearing loss.org/content/get-hearing-loop.
CAMPBELL HALL AT UCSB IS NOW BEING LOOPED I AM HOPEFUL THE NEW ENSEMBLE WILL BE LOOPED, THE MARYCRAIG AUDITORIUM AT THE SB MUSEUM OF ART IS LOOPED AS WELL AS SMALLER MEETING ROOMS .
THIS IS A BENEFIT TO THOSE WITH HEARING LOSS AND IS PAST DUE!
