KCLU is bringing Ask Me Another, NPR’s and WNYC’s Brooklyn-based public radio program, to Santa Barbara to tape in front of an audience at the Lobero Theatre!

Just weeks before his hit AMC show Mad Men comes to a close, show creator Matthew Weiner is teaming up with a whole different set of uncouth New Yorkers. As the designated VIP (Very Important Puzzler) on May 2, Weiner will face a round of mind-stirring Ask Me Another trivia prepared just for him and will also sit down with Eisenberg for an on-stage interview.

Ask Me Another will offer audiences an evening of comedy, music, tap-your-pencil-on-your-head trivia, and with the Mad Men mastermind in the house, libations will be part of the mix.

Ophira Eisenberg & Partners – house musician Jonathan Coulton and puzzle guru Will Hines – will also challenge contestants with rounds of trivia, word games and puzzles. Local smarties who think they have the wit and wiles to compete in an Ask Me Another game round at the Lobero Theatre can apply at amatickets.org. The show will air on public radio stations around the country the weekend of the Mad Men series finale – May 16/17.  Ask Me Another is heard on KCLU Sundays at 1PM PT and Mondays at 9PM.

Santa Barbara Dance Institute (SBDI) has brought high-quality, high-impact educational dance programs directly into Santa Barbara County schools and organizations for ten years.

This year’s show, entitled Ten Years, Ten Lessons, will feature over 300 energetic young performers from elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the county, as well as special guest performers including school teachers, parents, and community leaders. Ten Years, Ten Lessons is an inspiring hour of dance and music that is perfect for the whole family.

Awarded Santa Barbara Independent’s “Best Youth Performance” by Elizabeth Schwyzer in 2010, and coined the, “Feel-Good Show of the Year,” by County Arts Commissioner Ginny Brush, we look forward to your presence. Ten Years, Ten Lessons is a joyful and thoughtful reflection on the lessons learned over these past years.  Lessons such as: “Focus on the Journey, Not the Destination”, “Believe in Yourself”, “Take a Stand” and “Anything is Possible” are illustrated through energetic dancing and inspirational quotations.

It is easy for both children and adults to become so consumed by achieving a goal or so distracted by everything around them that they forget to notice how their actions affect others, to see other pathways toward happiness, or to simply take time to smell the roses!  “Ten Years, Ten Lessons”, is a fond look back at the things that have helped all of us at SBDI focus on the bigger picture of why we are here.

SBDI’s mission is to provide educational dance programs that help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives.

Now they have joined forces to form an acoustic duet that will quite frankly blow you away. Performing songs from their Little Feat catalogue and more with a decidedly different twist.

They first played together on the album ”Dixie Chicken“ some thirty-five years ago and since then have played together or individually on numerous recording sessions for Little Feat and countless others including Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Dionne Farris, and the Wallflowers, to name a few.
