Associates

One of the perks of being a Lobero Theatre Associate is VIP treatment and top-notch social events

The Lobero Theatre Associates are a dynamic women’s auxiliary group who have raised millions of dollars for the Lobero over their 42-year history. It’s thanks to them that audiences can enjoy the Lobero’s outdoor entertaining space in the back courtyard, the Steinway Grand piano, and the updated ladies restroom. Which makes it all the more gratifying to see this group out enjoying the theater they work so hard to preserve.

“Supporting the Lobero isn’t just about buying tickets. The Lobero is warm and inclusive, and has such a spirit of community.” – Annie Williams, Associates President”

On November 20 the Associates were featured guests at a concert by Dorado Schmitt and his band of all-star players from the Django Festival. Direct from France, these jazz impresarios have delighted fans all over the world with their contagious hot swing in the style of Django Reinhardt. It was wonderful to have over twenty Associates in attendance and enjoying the VIP reception including Lobero Board member Janet McCann and her husband John, Joan & Steven Crossland, and founding member Hope Kelly.

Beyond the bricks of the Esplanade, the Associates hosted their annual Holiday Tea at the beautifully decorated Four Seasons Biltmore. This year the tea held special significance as it’s the first time many returned to the luxury hotel since it suffered massive damage in the 2018 debris flow. Held on December 5, many full- and mini-members caught up with friends and collected a mountain of unwrapped toys for disadvantaged children. This soiree centered around an enticing display of tea sandwiches and desserts and holiday tunes played by pianist Fredrik Rosvall–who has been entertaining the Associates for the last 10 years. Special thanks to event co-chairs Mindy Denson and Paige Beard for their hard work continuing this holiday tradition.

We look forward to many nights out with these fabulous fundraisers!
