Blind Pilot

Blind Pilot strikes a balance between mellow folk and West Coast indie pop. Formed in 2007, the Portland-based group delivers powerfully moving, expressive music. From mourning the past to confidently facing the future, Blind Pilot deftly navigates the world’s complexities. The band has released four studio albums, performed on top talk shows, and has sold out concerts throughout the U.S., Europe, and the UK since its inception. Band members on tour include Israel Nebeker, Ryan Dobrowski, Kati Claborn, and Luke Ydstie.

The band’s first album in eight years, In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain, was released in August 2024. The LP emerged from a challenging artistic period for frontman Israel Nebeker, who struggled with writer’s block. Seeking a fresh approach, he set a goal to write an entire album in a month, fostering a spirit of collaboration with his bandmates. This shift in mindset allowed the group to explore their creative chemistry more freely, leading to a joyous recording experience.

Produced by Josh Kaufman, the album showcases a vibrant evolution in their folk/indie-rock sound, emphasizing live interactions and a collective trust in the songwriting process. As they embraced spontaneity and imperfections, the album became a celebration of their enduring bond, both as musicians and friends.
