Music Dialogue with Heiichiro Ohyama

Just as a chef’s table experience offers unparalleled proximity to the culinary action, “Music Dialogue” allows you to witness the creation of unique masterpieces with renowned musicians in real time. The event begins with appetizers & cocktails in the Lobero Courtyard, followed by an on-stage performance at 6:30 PM. This exclusive behind-the-scenes event fosters a deeply immersive melodic adventure that transcends the traditional concert-going experience.
Beginning with an impromptu riff, acclaimed Music Conductor Heiichiro Ohyama and four former members of the Chamber Orchestra (Amy Hershberger, Elizabeth Hedman, Erick Rynearson, Paula Fehrenbach) will navigate new territory, performing Antonín Dvořák – String Quintet No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97; “American” 1st Movement Allegro non tanto together for the first time. Observe their trial and error as the artists try to recreate the composer’s intent, breaking down the reasons behind artistic choices and deconstructing manuscripts to uncover their hidden meanings.
Then sit back, relax, and experience the magic as the musical piece is performed by the ensemble in its entirety. Afterwards, gain new insights with a special “Q & A” with the performers – lead by Concert Navigator Miho Ito.
This event made possible by the generosity of Mahri Kerley, in memory of Bob Emmons.
